Sure, it's plastic. But it gets the job done at a great value. If your attitude is "I want to get my side-view mirror back in place at the least possible expense" then this is for you. If your attitude is "I want to restore my vintage truck to better-than-new condition" then definitely not - unless, perchance, you just want to dismantle it for parts (like the mirror) to renovate the original. Nice quality hinge perfect for a bin door application. I purchased a bunch to use for MDF doors on two bookshelves, and so far they have worked fine. They have a nice snap action which brings the door in close, without having to use a magnetic catch. Very easy to install. The screws are not so great, but they give you extras in case you strip one.
