This mirror was the second replacement after the glass was damaged. The first one I bought used adhesive tape and lasted about 6 months before falling off. I'm using this as an aftercooler for my 60gal 155psi air compressor. I will say that in terms of significantly dropping the air temperature, this is doing an amazing job- the air compressor pump is reaching about 300F, but the copper tubing exiting the cooler is only about 100F. I've mounted the cooler on the cage protecting the compressor belt and it is getting some airflow, but I'm not using any electric fans or anything like that to really cool things.
Time will tell if it holds up, but so far it's working better then I had hoped for! Rating:  [5 of 5 Stars!] |

In my title for the review I included the part number for my purchase, i deemed this necessary as I was very skeptical about purchasing this item because everywhere I looked there seemed to be 2 part numbers for the chrome door handles, one covered the bezel and one covered the door handle itself. This item includes the bezel and the door handle in the same package which for the price is a geat purchase. I did inquire at the dealer and they sell the items separately which will double the price on the item. The item comes in an original Putco box with an installation kit that includes an alcohol swab, an accelerator tube and a pick to remove the backing from the tape. The installation is very easy. I first test measured the bezel against the door and while doing this I made a visual in my head about the surface area that the bezel covered. I then cleaned that surface area with the alcohol swab and applied the accelerator, took off the tape backing from the chrome piece and applied it to the handle. After the bezel was installed, I did the same for the door handle. The door handles look very nice and the remaining black surface which is under the door handles and some of the bezel still looks crisp and black, hence taking the visual picture of the surface area that is covered by the chrome piece and not over applying the accelerant onto the parts that are not going to be covered as this has a tendency to remove all surface wax and leaving the area very dull and a little tacky. I have washed the truck several times and the chrome is absolutely gorgeous and there are no signs of the tape giving way and falling off, definitely very sturdy. No regrets, and definitely recommend. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] |
